How this works, is that advertisers pay publishers (owners of websites) a certain amount of money to display their messages to his/her audience.

Now for every display of that message, a certain amount of money is given to you. This depends on what you decide to go with, either get paid per impression (when they display) or get paid per sign up (when users accept to be promoted to).

You can test these two options to find out which one works best for you, and let it run.

Personally, I decided to test out the Per Impression option. And the results from that test are as shown below.

Granted, it isn't much or life-changing money for publishers. But rest assured it can help you increase the valuation of a starter blog right out of the gate.

And better yet, keep you from quitting because of seeing big fat zeros every day.

Now, there's no shortage of monetization platforms that incorporate push notifications as one of their methods.

And as such, I decided to keep things simple and go with one whose name I had known for a while.

PropellerAds.

Plus they said and promised so much on their homepage, that I simply had to see for myself.

And especially the weekly pay promise, that really reeled me in. 🙂

How To Get Started With PropellerAds.

PropellerAds is an advertising network for online marketers and web publishers to drive quality and targeted traffic as well as earn from their efforts.

In this post, I will be covering the publisher side of things and in another post the advertiser side of things.

Now, to get started simply go to PropellerAds and sign up for a publisher account.

Once on the inside, add your site from the Sites section.

After this, you'll be required to verify your website's domain in a number of ways. Choose the one that works best for you, and verify.

Once you've verified your domain, you'll be asked to create/Add the Zones you need for your website.

These “Zones” are the various monetization options available for you to take advantage of; Popunders, Interstitials, Banners, etc.

In our case here, I chose the Push Notifications option. Feel free to play around with the other options.

When you decide to Get the Tags for a certain Zone option, you'll get another prompt to Name and Specify further how you'll like to be paid.

After this, you'll get detailed instructions on how to install the tag on your blog/site and start getting that money rolling in.

If you're using WordPress, they have a Plugin that you'll search from the WordPress repository, install, login in using your credentials, and simply choose your chosen Zones to display.

When you want to add more Ad Zones later, simply go to the Sites section, and click on the “+Add Zone” option.

You can similarly access your Ad progress results from the Statistics Section.

Granted the CPM's aren't great as you can see and heavily fluctuate.

Even so, you can play around with other Zones and settings to see which one you like best.

This is the best way to keep your site looking neat if you don't like Ads all over the place whilst still generating money from every visitor to your site.

Plus like I said earlier, it's better to sell a site that shows promise, and PropellerAds can help you with the stats.
